CCMC133 and FTL123 - Spring Birthday

I’ll start this post by confessing that I haven’t felt very creative lately. I’m blaming the rainy, dreary weather. And when I’m struggling creatively, I check out the challenge blogs to give me a starting point. This time I chose the CCMC133 color challenge at Create With Connie and Mary – Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, and Chocolate Chip. I also used Clean & Simples FTL123 layout. Here’s the card I made:

Next, I have to tell you that, probably like many of you, I’m my own worst critic. I had a design in mind, but it just didn’t look right IRL. I’d walk away, then come back and try to figure out what I didn’t like. I really like the flower and brad, but I think the Scallop Circle's competing too much with the petals of the flower.

I changed the Scallop Circle to a Plain Circle, and I like it better. But it’s still not right.  That Vanilla circle is just too small.

So I removed the Chocolate Chip layer completely and just used a larger Very Vanilla circle.

Finally, my flower really stands out and has the impact I wanted. And this is my final product:

What do you think? Do you like the final card the best? Would you change something else? I’d love to read your thoughts. Thanks for stopping by!

I do like you last one best. I think the brown on the other two was just too much and taking it off lightened it up nicely! Thanks for playing along this week in the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!

Your cards are wonderful and it looks like your creative juices are back! I like layers so my pick is the first one with the scallop circle. I think I would have added a small sliver of brown under another one of your layers, maybe the bottom of your yellow strip, to offset the scallop but your cards are great just the way they are! Thanks for playing with us at Create with Connie & Mary!
