Box in a Bag Purse

Splitcoast Stampers has a great Tutorial for the Box in a Bag, located HERE. I’m going to show you how I made this specific purse style Box in a Bag.

Start with a 5-1/2” x 3-3/4” piece of Basic Gray cardstock. Score at 1” on each side. (I have drawn the score lines to make it easier for you to see them.)
Cut the corner tabs as shown. Add Sticky Strip and adhere the tab to the adjacent side, forming the box.

Now you have a completed box.
Next, you need a 3” x 11” piece of Love Letter DSP. Add Sticky Strip as shown in the picture.
Gradually remove the long red liner and attach the DSP to the box
Remove the short red liner to seal the bag.

You have a completed Bag in a Box.

Use the Round Tab Punch to punch two Basic Black pieces.
Cut the punched pieces in half, so you have four tabs. Use the White Signo Gel Pen to add Faux Stitching.
Cut two 1/2” x 11” pieces of Pretty In Pink cardstock. Use the White Signo Gel Pen to add Faux Stitching.
Apply Sticky Strip to all the pieces. And cut two 8” pieces of Pretty In Pink Satin Ribbon.
Gradually remove the red liner from the Pretty In Pink strips and adhere them to the top and bottom edges of the bag.
Adhere the ribbon to the bag. Then cover each end with a Tab.
I added a Velcro Dot closure to the top of the purse. And I used Hemp Twine to tie a decorative charm to one ribbon handle. (The charm was made with the 1-1/4” Circle Punch and the Heart To Heart Punch.)

I hope you have fun creating your own Box in a Bag creations. Please let me know if you have any questions.
