Valentine Purses

Today I’ll show you the Valentine’s gifts I’m giving some of my coworkers. I love using the “Box in a Bag” technique to create treat bags. It’s so easy to make whatever shape and size you need by starting with a square or rectangle base. For Valentine’s Day, I thought purses would be fun for the ladies. So I used punches and ribbon to create these mini purse treat holders.

My “fabric” is the Love Letters DSP. The top and bottom “trim” is 1/2” strips of Pretty in Pink. My Satin Ribbon handles are held on with the Round Tab Punch. And I used the White Signo Gel Pen to add faux stitching. My purses are 3-1/2” long, 1-3/4” wide, and 3” high. See the complete tutorial HERE.

Out of my Comfort Zone Valentine

Good morning! Today I want to show you a card that was very difficult for me to make. I wanted to make something different for my Demonstrator Upline. And this card is way outside my comfort zone. I like clean and simple cards, with not too much going on. I just don’t do a lot of layering or pattern mixing. But I wanted to try something different for Maxine’s card. I struggled with how many hearts to include and where to place them. I normally do NOT have commitment issues, but I played around with this layout for more than an hour. I really like my end result, and I hope Maxine does, too.

Masculine Valentine’s Card

Good morning! This is one of the cards we made at Stamp Club last weekend. I wanted to make a masculine Valentine so the ladies could give it to their spouses. I love the Basic Black and Very Vanilla patterns in this Love Letters DSP. I added Basic Gray and Baja Breeze to keep that masculine feel. And, of course, some Riding Hood Red hearts since it is a Valentine’s card.

JUGS68 – Valentine treat box

This is the 3D item we made at Stamp Club last weekend. I originally saw this idea on several blogs after SU! Convention last summer. It looks like a frosted brownie. And I love brownies! I thought it was a perfect little candy box for Valentine’s Day which qualifies for the JUGS68 challenge – a 3D Valentine treat container.

CAS Valentine's Card

Hello!  Today's card is a CAS (clean and simple) Valentine's card.  I got this layout from the current Idea Book and Catalog.  I use it for ideas, especially those finishing touches, all the time.  I made this card one day, along with several others.  All that creativity left my Craft Room in a shambles.  Well, I had company coming in a few hours, so I quickly put everything away. 

But I had one card only partially done.  I decided to put all the supplies for that card in a "special place".  You know, so I could easily find everything and finish that card later.  Yep, you guessed it.  I had other projects and activities come up; I didn't get back to that card for a couple of weeks.  And when I was ready to work on it, I couldn't remember where that "special place" was.  I searched my craft room for 2 hours and finally gave up.  The next day I started to put something else away ... and there was that card with all its supplies.  (And my Regal Rose ink pad that I thought was gone forever!)
